"I just had a vision", says the owner of the 24,000 sq.ft. clear span facility. "I knew Sarasota needed an alternative space to host large-scale events. So I gathered all my friends to brainstorm with me, and one of the first things they suggested was joining the Chamber. I invited Chris Manring (the Chamber's membership VP) to tour the facility and she couldn't believe it. I had an Open House last June that was basically our "coming out party". I invited people in the event industry- caterers, entertainment companies, florists, limousine services, and concert promoters, as well as representatives from not-for-profit organizations."

Since then, Stardust Event Center has booked many concerts, dances, sporting events, homecomings, quinceaneras, weddings, Gala Fund Raisers, Holiday Parties, Luncheon Celebrations, and many more special events.

"The Chamber gave me the push I needed to get started."

The Chamber of Commerce will hold their 85th anniversary celebration at Stardust Event Center on August 18,2005.
